Place real-size pieces and check the walkways
Pick a piece and it lands on a clear spot near the middle of your view. Drag to move (5 cm steps); a face within 8 cm of a wall or piece closes up against it (hold Alt to place freely). The arrows nudge it 5 cm (Shift 1 cm), R turns it 90° (Shift+R 15°), Delete removes it, Ctrl+Z (⌘Z) undoes. Type a width and depth to size it. Lines show the gap on each side; under 75 cm turns amber. When you're happy, tell me and I draw the layout into the plan page and make it this plan's starting layout. Each plan keeps its own layout.
True size
At 100%, standing, things look their real size from where you sit. Set your screen and how far your eyes are from it (most people sit 50–60 cm from a laptop).
You sit
Mouse and touch. From above, drag to orbit, right-drag to pan, scroll to zoom. Standing, drag to look around, double-click the floor to walk there, scroll to widen or narrow the view.
What is it? Click any piece for its name, real size and finish; click a floor for the room's size.
Tape measure: the ruler button by the zoom, then two clicks.
Top right: the room you are in, the zoom (100% is true size), the direction you face and the distance ahead; below it, the plan with your position.
VR: open this page in a headset's browser (such as a Meta Quest) and an Enter VR button appears on the Go tab.
